LPWAN IPv6 Protocol Optimization

Connecting resource-constrained IoT devices over Low-Power Wide Area Networks (LPWANs) to IPv6-based internet infrastructure is the central problem, addressed through protocol adaptation techniques such as Static Context Header Compression (SCHC), RPL routing, and secure bootstrapping. The work spans standardization efforts and practical optimizations for fitting full IP stacks onto constrained, lossy networks with limited bandwidth and energy budgets.
