Crowd Evacuation Dynamics Simulation

Pedestrian and crowd dynamics modeling is the central focus, spanning microscopic (agent-based, social force), mesoscopic, and macroscopic approaches to simulate movement, evacuation, and emergent collective behavior. The social force model and its extensions remain foundational, while newer work incorporates data-driven techniques, emotional and cognitive factors, and infectious disease contagion to capture increasingly realistic crowd phenomena. Validation through empirical data collection and open-source simulation frameworks like Vadere connects theoretical models to practical applications in building design and emergency evacuation planning.
