Crowd Monitoring Sensor Networks
Crowd safety and public monitoring drive this community, with research spanning automated crowd behavior sensing, disaster mitigation, and command-and-control systems for emergency response. Methods include image processing, ad hoc and sensor networks, and — in more recent work — integrated communication and sensing in 6G networks. Privacy-preserving design emerges as a cross-cutting concern, particularly as sensing capabilities become embedded in next-generation wireless infrastructure.
