Pedestrian Crowd Simulation Dynamics
Pedestrian and crowd dynamics modeling is the central focus, spanning microscopic agent-based approaches, mesoscopic kinetic formulations, and macroscopic continuum theories to simulate movement, evacuation, and emergent collective behaviors. The social force model and its extensions remain foundational, with growing integration of data-driven and hybrid methods that incorporate psychological factors such as emotional contagion, panic, and smartphone distraction. A significant applied thread addresses crowd safety, disaster prevention, and evacuation optimization in complex built environments.
