Description
Umbrella entry for any wireless Network Interface Card (NIC) used as a CSI extraction front-end. In the thesis bibliography, "NIC" without further qualification almost always refers to one of the four canonical CSI platforms: intel-5300, atheros-csi-tool, nexmon-csi (Broadcom-based), or picoscenes (multi-chip). This entry exists to canonicalise the bare alias so the entity extractor doesn't mint new nodes when a paper just says "we used a commodity NIC".
Specs / capabilities
- See per-chip notes for actual specs
- Common shared traits relevant to CSI: monitor mode, packet injection, per-subcarrier CSI export
Tooling
- See per-chip notes
Used by (papers)
- Used as a generic alias in CSI literature; resolve to the specific NIC when known
